Pastor's Letter

Greetings Holmes Grove United Methodist Church,                                                                                         November 1, 2022

We thank you for the Pastor’s Appreciation card, gift, and reception. Our family loves being here at Holmes Grove Church.

Thank you for your continuance to “Do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God” as we continue to wear our masks. Please invite your family and friends to attend our in-person services or watch our online worship services via our Facebook Live stream, our webpage, or our YouTube channel. Encourage those who you know watch us from afar to support our ministries through online giving using Zelle: Holmesgrovefinance@gmail.com and CashApp: $Holmesgrovechurch. You may also give the traditional way by placing your offering in the plate or mailing it to the church. Christian Financial Stewardship is an important part in showing our love for God. The Bible tells us, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

Thank you to those who supported and participated in the Greensboro Crop Walk for Hunger.  I would like to thank Sis. Carolyn Hill, Bro. DeMonte, and the Holmes Grove UMC Choir and guests for blessing us each Sunday with their music ministry.

We have learned from Luke 18:1-17, We must pray unceasingly, practice what we preach, and give God the glory. We are preparing for Charge Conference and our leaders are completing their reports. Our Charge Conference will be on Saturday November 12 at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Diron Chloe (Metropolitan UMC) as our presiding Elder. Our 148th Church Anniversary will be celebrated November 12-13, 2022, as we continue to rebuild. We are looking forward to going bowling, having service on the original church grounds, and the fellowship thereafter. Great things are happening here at Holmes Grove Church, and I thank you for all you do.

Be Blessed,

Rev. Dr. John P. Henry, Jr.
