Our Back To School Celebration
Students are back in school, and parents are rejoicing after a long, hot summer.
Congregational Care hosted a back-to-school celebration and Rev. Dr. John Henry, Jr. told students to give God their best and to do their best. Students of all ages came to the altar where we prayed for them, teachers and administrators this school year. Students received school supplies, gift cards and a Biscuitville breakfast bag to go! Thank you, Congregational Care!
Congratulations Jolie & VBS Team!

Salmo 100
Adora al Señor con alegría;
Mrs. Hamilton is Honored
Thank you for your service!
Our beloved Mrs. Hamilton was honored for being a Charter Member of the Sigma Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi, Sorority, Inc. In November of 1971, she and ten other nurses came together and founded a chapter of their nursing sorority in North Carolina. Mrs. Annie McIver (first president) & Mrs. Arrie Smith were also founders (now deceased).
There are only 2 surviving founders, and they were honored in April for their service, impact and legacy. Governor Roy Cooper and Congresswoman Alma Adams also congratulated them by name in two special video messages. Mrs. Hamilton is seen here with the other founder, Mrs. Margaret Wingfield.
Mrs. Hamilton is Black History. She has an amazing legacy and we are very proud of her. We thank God for her and her work in our community. (Photos and some of copy borrowed from Rickiah Wingfield. Her grandmother is the other founder.)
