What will our earth look like in 20 years for our children and grandchildren? God has called us to be good stewards of his creation-to love, protect, and share in his gifts. Yet, we are living in a time of climate change. What can we do now to be more sustainable in our homes and churches?

Acerca del evento
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED, BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND WITHOUT A LUNCH ORDER.
How many bottles of water does your church or home use per week? What harsh cleaning products are leading to indoor air pollution? And what will our earth look like in 20 years for our children and grandchildren?
Genesis 3:15 says, The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
God has called us to be good stewards of his creation-to care, respect, and share in his gifts. Unfortunately, unless we make changes in our communities we won’t be leaving much to our children and grandchildren. What can we do now to be more sustainable in our homes and churches?
Protecting our earth and those who are disproportionately affected by global climate change is one of the core principles of United Women in Faith. The Holmes Grove United Methodist Church unit will be presenting “Sustainable Practices & Just Energy For All” as part of its Women’s Day Program at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Masey DeMoss, Waste Reduction and Recycling Educator for the City of Greensboro will be the guest speaker. DeMoss will share smart ways to clean, reduce, reuse, and recycle to help us live more sustainable lives and be better stewards of God’s earth.
DeMoss graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master’s in science education from East Carolina University. Previously, she was a high school science teacher. DeMoss now channels her enthusiasm for the environment into educating residents about recycling, waste reduction, and other sustainable practices. Her approach aims to empower individuals to make a positive impact on our planet by recycling right and embracing easy eco-friendly habits.
